Erdogan Atalay was born on the 22nd of september 1966 in Hannover. With 18 years already he gained his first experience with acting in the theatre of Hannover. In 1987 he started with a study at the high-school for music and art in Hamburg. Whit his girl-friend Marion he lives in Berlin.

His big dream is to play once in a cinema-movie. Which part he would play doesn't matter for Erdogan. "I would even play a prehistoric man", thus the congenial actor. "It just has to be in a cinema-movie!". On television the actor with the turkish name - his mother is german, his father is from Turkey - has already had his break-through.

In 1996 he together with Johannes Brandrup took care of the most sensational serie-start in the history of the german commercial television: as Semir Gerkhan he fascinated 10 million viewers in Germany in the first episodes of "Cobra 11". And now there are still watching always 6 million viewers to "Alarm für Cobra 11" in Germany.

Erdogan can move good into Semir, because Semir look a lot like him. Semir is no though police-cop, but a positive figure, who applies to the fate of others. But above that all the young police-cop looks for, just like Erdogan himslef, risks. Then to look for his own limits, that tries Erdogan too. He followed once a diving-course and he also wants to learn how to fly with a parachute. That's whay is't handy, that the actor cav live his life to the full in "Cobra 11". He finds it a pitty that he isn't allowed to do some stunts himself in consideration of safety.

Also in other series, like "Die Wache" and "Der Clown" Erdogan played little parts. Only for a part in a cinema-movie he waited till now without succes. But he stays optimistic: "What isn't there can still come. On this moment the same people are always asked. Once there will be a demand for new faces. Who knows how long the stares there will shine."
